You must set goals for yourself ! They must be reslistic, achieveable and have a time frame to them. They also have to be qualified with specfic targets that are to be met ! These goals will change often during the coarse of your business, but you still have to have a roadmap for your project.
These are the things that you have to do to make your online business successful:
- Get Online And Look, Observe and Note. Look at the opportunities that are available. Look at the successful sites and businesses. Make lists of what they are doing and how they are doing it.
- Define Your Online Objectives, Markets and Products. Make a mission statement. This is a simple statement of goals and objectives- a must for every business.
- Create and Distribute Information and Tools. The internet has and will continue to be a place for finding information. You will never achieve your goals simply trying to sell products.
- Create and Update Your Website- It's not that hard to create a website. What is difficult is to make that website shine amoung the thousands who's goals may be the same as yours. Your website should be in constant evolution. It should be updated, added to and optimized.
- Measure Your Results- Your results naturally should be measured in profit. But there are many other ways that it should be measured to improve performance. You must have a specific way to measure what your business is achieving.
- Market Your Presence- Your largest task as an online presence is to market your goods, services and your website.

Remember, your goal on the internet is to provide information as a tool, product or service. The perception of your company as a source of information is critical ! Information that you provide should be independent of point of sale.
Your First Task- Define What Interests You
The passion for your business must be whole and complete. That passion will be evident in everything you do. So your first step is to decide what interests you. Why would you sell something that you have no interest in or would not use yourself. The belief in your product or service must be unwaiverable. Only then will you truely be profitable and successful.
Think about 5 things that interest you or that you have some experience in. They could be your hobbies like crafts or fishing. It could be a second career that you would like to develop. It could be a new idea or approach to something allready existing. Whatever it is, just write it down.
Look At Other Companies & Websites- Especially The Successful Ones
- Just type in any inquiry from your list. Use phrases and words associated to that topic.
On the internet and in business, these are referred to as niches .
- Look at these websites and make a list about what appeals to you. Bookmark the ones you like or place them in your favorites.
- Go to forums with like topics and observe. Gather information. Observe what is most important, wanted or needed in your niche.
- Especially notice the businesses commitement to it's customers.
